Sunday Randomness #275: Bringing puzzles back: October 2024 with hologram image cats and a Christmas cat 35 and 36

500 piece Giordano Prime 3D puzzle of cats (it has holographic paper so the image shifts in different light or when it's tilted).

This second picture shows some of the sheen on the pieces.

And I got the lighting to show how some cats had a second pair of eyes depending on how the image viewing.  This view is from a different orientation to get the shot.  It's on the right side of the puzzle roughly in the middle.  The long dark tail is from the cat on the bottom next to the white baseboard.

Then there was a traditional Christmas puzzle from White Mountain of 1000 pieces that was titled Cozy Christmas Cat.

Author #186: The Cat Man of Aleppo in part by Irene Latham and Karim Shamsi-Basha

The Cat Man of Aleppo by Irene Latham and Karim Shamsi-Basha with illustrations by Yuko Shimzu is a picture book about Mohammad Alee Aljaleel who became an ambulance driver to help people when war broke out in Syria.  He realized that many people had to leave their pets and he started to ask for scraps from local butchers to feed all the cats that could not be with their families. From scraps there came a cat sanctuary, playground for children, and help for other animals. There is an interview with Alee from Dec. 9, 2020 from TRT-a Turkish Public Broadcast service. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8yBAZWWUkM&t=136s

Sunday Randomness #71 : Some library displays and a question from doormats...

We've started some new displays at the library and we have a revolving sign-up every two weeks.  I've gotten to do two displays so far and I made up the interim signage.  See if you can guess which display we put up in between displays for a day or two.  My first display I just looked for any items that had "devil" in the title somewhere.  I just thought it would be funny with the summer we've been experiencing.  The second display was just an excuse to try to find cookbooks with men on the cover.  It was a lot harder than I thought it would be.  I would have guessed that there were more women cookbook authors but women also grace the cover of cookbooks more often than men.  Men generally have fewer self-portraits and more food on the cover of their books than women.

And the last picture was when we were out and about.  I just want to know if the neighbors fur babies have ever met each other and how civil was the interaction...
