Sunday Randomness #263 : Glue on tile

I bought some razor blades and a long handled razor scrapper to tackle the glue on the pink bathroom tiles from the carpet that was on the floor before.  Lots of elbow grease later (and a lot of help from Mego!) and most of the glue is off.  We still need to work on some of the residue but it looks a lot better now.

Sunday Randomness #275: Bringing puzzles back into our lives Late June into July sees puzzles 16, 17, and 18

300 piece Buffalo Puzzle Vivid collection "Rainbow City" was a fun little puzzle-smaller pieces but it came together quickly since the mirror images were very different.

Back to another 1000 piece!  Cobble Hill made this scrumptious Breakfast Sweets puzzle.  Who would have known that pancakes in different forms would look so alike?!?!

July saw us going to a simple 500 piece puzzle from Bits and Pieces of animals at a picnic.

Sunday Randomness #275: Bringing puzzles back into our lives 7 and 8-April into May 2024

100 piece Puppies floor puzzle done near the end of April

1000 Piece Dog Breeds from Vintage Puzzle done near the beginning of May.  This is the first 1000 piece puzzle.  I was very intimidated but Mego dove right into assembly.  It wasn't too hard because of all the different breeds of dogs but the oranges started to blend and were the last dogs that we put together if they had any kind of orange fur.

Sunday Randomness #275: Bringing puzzles back into our lives 4, 5, 6

More puzzles from April.  Jellyfish from the artist, Kate Rhees, a 300 piece from the manufacturer CEACO.  It was surprisingly easy and a lot of fun!  Find more art from Kate Rhees at her website: https://katerhees.com/

A Dowdle puzzle, Dog Walkers, 500 pieces. A lot more challenging than we initially thought it would be to complete.

World Map 33 piece puzzle from Melissa and Doug.  I got this one from Savers to just do for quick fulfillment fun and then to pass on to others.  It just took me a long time to eventually pass it on...

Sunday Randomness #275: Bringing puzzles back into our lives 1, 2, 3

Recently we started doing puzzles.  We have assembled some in the past but it's been many years.  Starting at the end of March, we did a 275 piece from Cobble Hill with birds and flowers.

Moving into April are puzzles two and three.  Second puzzle is a 350 Springbok with shells.

And now the one after that, the third puzzle, is a Glow in the Dark Dragon puzzle with only 100 pieces.  I don't have the company that manufactured this one.

And now a break with a couple of cute, happy animals in an idyllic setting

With abandon, the golden creature and black/white creature raced through the greenery, reveling in the coolness of the April afternoon.

I approached slowly, so as not to startle them as they foraged on the tender shoots of grass.

On another day, earlier in the month of April, they were given a block of ice.

Though they are of the same species, they approached the unexpected frozen treat in very different manners.

Sunday Randomness #126: ZCMI Demolition-more photos in the 7th post

The columns in the ZCMI building on the north side.

Starting to move towards the south, there's a mixer coming into view on the right side of the picture.

The arm of a excavator/backhoe next to the mixer? at the mid point between the north and south sides.

A small green bobcat (because it has tires instead of treads? so it wouldn't be a true bulldozer?) on the south side of the building.

Sunday Randomness #126: ZCMI Demolition-more photos 6th post

West side of the building in the April sun.

Long shot of the west side opening.

Two similar pictures: the first one I was trying to get the demolition on the top of the picture with the metal beams and the second one below I tried to get more of the stone facade wrapping around on the left (north) side of the picture.

But I got a much better picture of the stone façade wrapping around into the entrance in the final picture of this particular (6th) blog post.  I think the stone façade is an amazing example of some stone masonry work.  This sort of stone work use to be much more common-the piecing together of the mosaic and cutting some pieces to fit with the rest of the design and parameters. More pictures of the interior columns coming!
