They use to offer gifts for setting up accounts such as these pans and knives from American Savings and the second part of the advertisement below has some ideas for savings that are still valid today such as making payments to your savings after paying off something on installments.
A selection of remarks from the mundane to the occasional wit with some recipes, book selections, and various sundries included.

Sunday Randomness #245 : a little leap to Las Vegas for a few days part 9 (last part!)
And what would be a trip to Las Vegas, NV without some shopping? We just window shopped other than treats and experiences like the wax museum but there was something for almost anyone who is into retail consumption. Like re-imagined movie figures...
There are lots of oxygen bars if you feel the need to breathe regular air oxygen infused with scent.
We found quite a few fun items at this shop with the dragon.
Thanks to all the many friends (and a couple of very specific ones) who helped us plan before and during our trip. They helped us to have a great experience and we ended up seeing and accomplishing more touristy things than we originally planned. Who knows? We might even go back someday since Las Vegas has a lot to offer to everyone and not just to the gambling clientele.

Sunday Randomness #245 : a little leap to Las Vegas for a few days part 8
Across the street from entering the Fremont Street Exprience.
The pictures above shows some of the light show on the roof over Fremont St.
Fremont St has certainly changed from when I saw the man on the horse many, many years ago. Back then you could easily drive down this strip of Las Vegas which was famous for casinos and other things even then.

Sunday Randomness #245 : a little leap to Las Vegas for a few days part 6
Food! Tasting treats from bakeries to restuarants to the M and M store and Hershey's (where I forgot to take any pictures).
The Dragon Breath at Chocolate Chair was unique-they were crunchy, slightly sweet balls of cereal with liquid nitrogen added. The result is everyone expelling "smoke" like a dragon after eating some of the concoction. While not extremely tasty, it wasn't bad and was a fun group activity since one cup is plenty for a small group of people.
Daisy contemplating all the choices in milk, dark, peanut, almond, other flavors like mint and cherry, and colors along with skittles in the huge room-sized display of bulk wares offered at the M & M store.
All of us holding different highly priced dispensers. We just bought our treats and ate them straight out of the bag.
Daisy playing around at Sushi Roku in Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas, Nevada. Notice Mica pointedly ignoring her.
This was a random local place that we found just driving around but they were so nice and the food was good. If you're in the area, check out Tasty Island Jamaican Restaurant.
Carlo's Bake Shop was the number one place we definitely did not want to miss on our trip-all the other food outings were just incidental and we just stopped at whatever was in the neighborhood. Here's Daisy, Mica, and Hedgehog waiting in line. Daisy and I had watched some of Cake Boss in earlier years.
So many treats from eclairs...
to chocolate dipped strawberries...
to cake slices and brownies...

to cookies, cannolis, and the famous lobster tail pastries. The lobster tail pastries were delicious as were the other treats we bought.
We enjoyed eating out but we also bought groceries and had breakfast, lunch, and snacks in the hotel room.

Sunday Randomness #245 : a little leap to Las Vegas for a few days part 5
And the wax museum in Las Vegas? Yes, it's worth the price of admission. https://www.madametussauds.com/las-vegas/en/ Here's just a smattering of things we saw:
Hedgehog flanked by Elvis and Louis Armstrong
Daisy and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
Upper photo-the kids staring up at Shaquille O'Neal. Me with Marilyn Monroe and Donny and Marie Osmond and Wolfgang Puck in the background.
