June Day 8 of New Books at SLCOLibrary

Mystery is one of the largest sections in the genre area of  my library.  Lots of mystery readers out there and the Salt Lake County Library has many new selections at my branch and other branches throughout the system.

June Day 6 of New Books at SLCOLibrary

We certainly don't want to forget picture books!  There are so many great reads in picture books for all ages!  You're never to old to enjoy a good picture book.  How I Learned How to Fall Out of Trees by Vincent Kirsch was a very sweet friendship/moving away story. (That's the one in the picture that has the really bad glare on the cover.)

June Day 5 of New Books at SLCOLibrary

Harking back to the 5th of November and politics, most libraries would not be complete without some political books.  Here we have such titles as Breaking Hate, American Resistance, and No Human is Illegal.  There are other titles in the 300's (Social Sciences) that are also intriguing such as Shaped By Snow Defending The Future of Winter by a Utah author, Ayja Bounous.

June Day 4 of New Books at SLCOLibrary

What if you just want to get a book based on size?  We have new arrivals that won't fit on the regular shelf as shown by these tall books featuring photography, music, and handiwork like punch needle projects.  Thanks to Alecia at Chicken Scratch NY for the great Punch Needle introduction and tutorial!

June Day 3 of new books at SLCOLibrary

And how can one go wrong with new science fiction/fantasy?  Right now I think a fair number of people would love to visit new worlds and you can in a book!
