Sunday Randomness #210: B's lump surgery with stitches but no cancer!

Stitches the day after surgery  They tested the lump and it came back negative for cancer.  It was a small oil cyst bump for a couple of years but then it started growing fast, becoming really sensitive to touch (we couldn't stroke her side without her glancing around concernedly), and then it started changing color.  So we chose to have it removed and tested.

Amazingly she did act a little tired the next day.  This is her shaved front leg where she had her IV.

Stitches about 3 days later.  No redness or swelling, crusting up nicely.

B in her surgery suit.  She didn't need to use the tail hole so we tucked it and just kept her side covered.  Look at those beautiful light brown eyes!

But even superhero puppies need their suits washed occasionally so B switched to an old t-shirt from Daisy.

And then she decided to go for a swim, sigh.  The shirt dried quickly.

Fur growing back, tight stitches healing nicely.  This was about 15 days after B's  surgery.

Stress yawn as we waited in the front lobby at the veterinarian's office.  B jumped on the bench to be between us which is a stress indicator.  Other stress indicators are that her tail is to one side, she's leaning her back legs against the back of the bench (normally she's very independent in standing), and front right paw is touching Mego's leg a little.  (Normally she's close but not touching unless she's in the mood to be cuddly which is not often.)  She had also started whining which increased in volume, pitch, and tempo once she determined in the car that we were heading in the direction of the vet's office.  She got her stitches out super fast and she's pretty much back to full energy. B-B has needed to lick her ears to calm her down but that's a video for another post.

Sunday Randomness #234: C, C, C, C, C (with a kuh sound).......... Cows seventh post: the final round-up

Daisy with an ivory Shetland cow

We went to Fold of Liberty Farms to pet and comb their cows.  It's marketed as cow cuddling but  I think the cows need to be use to you to cuddle...
It was a fun and peaceful excursion and one that we would readily repeat.

Sunday Randomness #234: C, C, C, C, C (with a kuh sound).......... Cows sixth post: Some peaceful munching cows

Did you know cows have a dental pad on the top in the front of their mouth?  There are a few teeth on the bottom in the front and then there are molars on both the top and the bottom further back in the mouth.  Apparently it's part of being a ruminant animal. Dr. Lindsay has a very succinct explanation:  https://agriculturalwithdrlindsay.com/tag/dental-pad/

Those two young Shetland cows thought about squaring off again but the one decided to shake it off.

Sunday Randomness #234: C, C, C, C, C (with a kuh sound).......... Cows fourth post Daisy combs a black cow

Yes, there were flies but the cows looked healthy and had glossy coats, clear eyes, ears, and muzzles and fairly clean back ends.  They're cows-there are going to be flies.  I found an interesting article about mixing garlic powder into their food to make the cows less appealing to flies.  https://blog.redmondagriculture.com/cattle-fly-repellent-garlic-is-worth-its-salt

Sunday Randomness #275: Bringing puzzles back: December 2024 with 44, 45, and 46 Baking, Bunnies, Laundry

Bits and Pieces 300 piece Baking Cookies-makes me want to start the holiday baking right now!

Gibson 550 piece Holiday Village with bunnies.  Fun but the snow looked very similar and was a little hard to put together.

Ceaco 550 piece Paws Gone Wild with dogs doing laundry.  I just had concerns about the dogs being around all the laundry cleaners and chemicals.  And I just can't approve of the dog in the washer and doubt the dogs wouldn't be freaked out by the vacuum cleaner.  Just have to remember to suspend my beliefs in reality when working puzzles.

Sunday Randomness #275: Bringing puzzles back: November 2024 featured a dog, some cats, a coral reef, and some difficult donuts 40, 41, 42, and 43

Galison 500 piece featuring Momo the Dog-this one was from a puzzle night and was so fun to put together.

Ceaco 550 piece Paw Gone Wild with a bunch of cats.  Crazy cat lady is something to be proud of if you are a responsible crazy cat lady.

Milton Bradly 500 piece Coral Reef puzzle which was a bit harder because the edges of the puzzle didn't match the box.

Colorcraft 1000 piece Difficult Donuts.  Enough similar colors to make it "difficult" but enough difference to make it doable.
