Sunday Randomness #232 resuming operations Visiting a mall and photos with Santa

A vending machine for nails, eyelash extensions, and other beauty products.

The $12 CAD for a 5 x 7 would be around $8-9 USD...Most Utah pkgs I saw ranged from $20 to $40 to start for a small package.  What happened to a single photo like they're doing in Canada? Hmmmm...

Lines were actually rather short.
Plenty of places to sit if you just wanted to take in the atmosphere of holiday cheer.

But one of the coolest things? Games on the floor for kids!

Sunday Randomness #430 : Hiding Tinsel and the pups meet Santa

My library is hiding Tinsel the elf in a different location each day in December.  If you find her you can get a treat ( a Hershey's Kiss) from the info or children's desks.  I signed up for a couple of days and the first day Tinsel was found in our book bag display encouraging patrons to buy a book bag-especially since the price will go from $1 to $2 starting in January 2023.

Her second hiding place was on top of the book sale where she encouraged patrons to buy a book!

I'm glad she doesn't have a fear of heights because I wouldn't have been comfortable being that high up from the ground!

And the pups, B and B-B, got to meet Santa at Home Depot.  I don't think they were too impressed...they expected him to smell more like a workshop and cookies...the workshop smell was there with the Home Depot background but not the cookies.  Sigh. They'll just have to wait to see if Santa leaves them a treat Christmas morning.

Author #172: Furman, cookies, Santa, the world = a great grouping for a book!

M.E. Furman writes about Christmas traditions around the world and the different treats left for Santa in the book, A World of Cookies For Santa: Follow Santa's Tasty Trip Around The World.  Susan Gal illustrated the book with charcoal on paper and digital collage.  The book includes nine cookie recipes at the back.  Taste of Home magazine has a list of 35 cookie recipes that they think should be in every recipe file-find the link at https://www.tasteofhome.com/collection/the-best-cookie-recipes/view-all/
