Sunday Randomness #107 : Asking about advocacy for the marginalized with Emilio Estevez and the movie: "The Public"

The movie, The Public, was good with a very timely message in a moving story.  We saw a free showing at the Salt Lake City Main Library downtown thanks to an old co-worker letting us know about tickets.

Hedgehog asked the whole panel how one could get involved in advocacy for those who are marginalized in society.  The short answer?  Get involved.  Contact officials, be aware of what's going on in your community, help out and volunteer, look for solutions, and be willing to jump in cold water and out of your comfort zone.  Emilio Estevez gestured for the rest of the panel to answer first.  Then he answered that he remembered his father getting arrested many times for different causes.  He joked that it's not just cold water but the cold metal of handcuffs for what you believe in and that he finally understood some of the things his father did after making the movie, The Public.  It's definitely a worthwhile movie to see.  It's coming out in general release on April 5th, 2019.
