Part One: A simple start and the finished product
First, they mark off an area with little yellow flags and yellow paint.
They also remove vegetation to help see the markings.
Then, voilà! There's magically a sidewalk where there wasn't one before!
Actually, there's a lot more to it than that. Look for upcoming posts that will cover some of that tedious in-between stuff connecting the yellow markings to the finished cement sidewalk.
